If the space around the electrical enclosure is limited, roof exhaust units represent the best ventilation solution to eliminate excess heat produced by the electrical devices inside. TP roof units are an excellent alternative to fan filter units, especially when lack of accessibility to the vertical walls of the cabinets occurs.
A new range of 24V and 48V DC roof exhaust units
Alongside the traditional TP roof units, we have decided to enrich our range with new models powered by direct current, 24Vdc and 48Vdc.
As we have already seen about fans, the benefits deriving from this technology can be summarized with three main keywords: safety, efficiency and scalability of the useful power.
The advantages of DC power supply for ventilation devices in electrical enclosures
- Safety: a roof unit is installed in an area of the electrical cabinet not occupied by other components, with the exception of lamps for internal lighting. The power distribution is separated from the conduits for the passage of cables and therefore, the availability of low voltage lamps and roof units allows the entire upper area to be occupied by Class III components.
- Efficiency: with the same maximum power and air passage sections, the DC motors allow to obtain flow rates up to 50% higher than traditional solutions, with evident energy savings.
- Scalability of the useful power: the new range of Fandis dc roof units has a power capacity control input through which to optimize the working point, according to the actual ventilation needs. By simply applying a resistive divider on the terminal board, the panel manufacturer can “program” the desired flow rate for his application. The entire supply chain benefits from the limitation of the codes to voltage variations only, defining the optimal working point for each project. In addition, the power partialisation is also manageable by a proportional regulator with standard output 0..10V and the entire range of roof units has a tachometer output, useful for both diagnostic and regulation functions.
